Senior UX Researcher

In a nutshell

We are looking for an experienced UX Researcher to join our team. As a core member of the Product team, you will join a dynamic environment and work with cross-functional teams to help drive user satisfaction, engagement and retention. Your work will increase the user lifetime value for Mika as a business and so improve the user experience and overall product quality of the Mika App.


As our Senior UX Researcher, you will have a direct impact on helping thousands of cancer patients on their treatment journey across several markets. You will join our Product Team to drive and own research activities and optimize user satisfaction for our app. You will do this by defining research strategies end to end, for research conducted in both German and English. This is a role for a seasoned UX researcher who is seeking a new challenge in a purposeful mission to help cancer patients.

What you will be doing
  • Identifying User Needs and Preferences: Conduct thorough user research to uncover user needs, behaviors, and preferences through qualitative and quantitative methodologies by thinking out of the box to explore unconventional insights.

  • Validating UX/UI Concepts: Plan and execute formative and summative evaluations of UX/UI concepts to validate design decisions and iterate towards optimal user experiences by finding the right research methods to ensure comprehensive validation.

  • Shaping and Maintaining User Personas: Develop and refine user personas based on research findings to ensure a deep understanding of target user demographics, motivations, and goals, while maintaining a user-centric approach.

  • Maintaining a Feedback Repository: Organize and manage a repository of user feedback to facilitate easy access and reference for the design and development teams, ensuring stakeholder awareness by sharing relevant insights effectively.

  • Generating Insights and Learnings from Incoming User Feedback: Analyze user feedback data to extract actionable insights and meaningful learnings that inform product improvements and enhancements byprioritizing user-centricity in decision-making processes.

  • Combining Quantitative and Qualitative Insights: Effectively communicate research findings and insights through compelling storytelling, blending quantitative data with qualitative anecdotes to drive empathy and understanding across teams, while engaging stakeholders to foster collaboration and alignment.

What we would like you to bring with
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Anthropology, Information Science, or a related field

  • Proficient in a diverse range of UX research methodologies and tools

  • Capable of independently managing and executing user research projects from inception to completion

  • Exhibit exceptional empathetic communication abilities, particularly skilled in conducting interviews with patients. Prior experience in this domain is highly valued

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of research systems and methodologies, with proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research techniques

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills coupled with a proactive mindset, adept at effectively conveying user research insights to stakeholders

  • Competent in utilizing tools such as Condens, Typeform, Atlassian, and Asana for research and project management

  • Experience with Medical Device Regulations is considered advantageous

  • Based in Berlin

  • 4+ years of hands on work experience

  • Fluent in German and English
